Are all calculators free? Yes. BrewingCalc is completely free with no in-app purchases.
How accurate are the calculations? The app uses established brewing formulas — Tinseth for IBU, a 60-point SG/ABV interpolation table, and the Real Extract formula for calories. Results are as accurate as the input values you provide.
My results look wrong. What should I check? Make sure your units match the selected input mode. Each calculator shows the expected unit next to every field — double-check that gravity is entered as SG (e.g. 1.050) and not Plato, or vice versa.
Does the app save my inputs? Yes. The main calculators restore your last-used values when you reopen them.
Does the app work offline? Yes, entirely. No internet connection is required.
Is my data backed up to iCloud? No. Calculator inputs are stored locally on your device only.
What iOS version is required? iOS 26 or later.
